Dangerous Temptations....

Berry Smoothie and Sour Cream Chips
Just one example.  The right is sour cream potato chips.

The left is berry smoothie.

This kind of combination has given me extra weight since March.

Hairy Caterpillar --- Watch Out !

I got this rash around my neck and on my right wrist.    I was wondering ...
Usually my skin never gets this kind of allergy.... then it turned out its cause is powder of caterpillar.   Itchy and red.

I don't think I touched caterpillar directly... it's probably from my cat.
Sally crawls into bush and loves to rub her body to trees.  So, she carried powder from some sasanqua ( a kind of camellia ).  She doesn't get any rash !  ( She is hairy enough to protect herself from powder. ) I'm not hairy !

The doctor saw my skin and immediately diagnosed.  I got some tablets and ointment.

Aussie Beef and Salad

Meat ! Meat !
I try to listen to my body.... it feels like my body knows what I need.

Lately, my body says ( ! ) I should eat more meat.  It is getting warmer or hotter  and body perhaps needs energy to adjust to this weather.

I bought a pack of Aussie beef and cooked it  with garlic.  Added a tea spoonful soy sauce.

Salad is celery and tomato.   Power charge is done !

Nice Season.... Despite Rainy Days....

It's rainy season.  Unpopular season in our four seasons.  I try to enjoy rainy days by using umbrellas I like or shoes I like.

A friend of mine said.  " It's annoying for us, but because of this rain, all the crops and plants grow and they need to have this water. "

Udon Noodle @ Komugibo Shibuya

Kitsune Udon & Lotus Root/Egg Plant  Tempura,

People are Lined Up during Lunch time
The small size Kitsune Udon is 370 yen.  I added tempura, that total was around 500 yen... ( I forgot the exact price.)

The square one on the noodle is seasoned deep-fried tofu.

This reasonable and tasty, fast food seems to be popular.

When I finished, there was a long line....

Komugibo Shibuya Menu ( Japanese )

Soccer --- See You Tomorrow !

I need to check the soccer game.... will see you tomorrow.  Thanks for checking.

Children Cannot Swim @ School's Swimming Pool

If the swimming pool is indoor, children can swim, if it's outdoor, they cannot.
Saddest thing of this nuke power accident is that children are the victims.
In the news, they are wearing masks, caps and long sleeves ( the temperature is over 20 degrees centigrade ).

Looking back my childhood, I was running around in the hills and forests ( I was very lucky.  I was born in Tokyo, but for nearly 10 years, I lived in Chiba prefecture where the city was not fully developed ) played with frogs, crawfish in the rice fields....

It's almost their job to play with nature, run on the ground, smell flowers and plants.
It's painful enough to watch them in the news.

Probably it's impossible to shut down the nuke plants all together right now, yet they can shut down gradually.  Based on the data, without nuke plants, the current ( old ) thermal power generation could cover the necessary electric power... ( Interestingly, it is said that TEPCO hid the information after the incident ) .

Some say that having nuke plants is important from the security point of view... still we already have 45 tons of plutonium equivalent to more than 5,000 atomic bomb.... isn't it too much ?    Then there is another logic that " if we keep them, it could be considered that we are trying to create nuclear weapon, so we have to consume them by using them for power generation. "    It doesn't make sense to me....I don't think I am so naive on this issue....

Lately, there are much information and explanations about cost of nuke power plant....it was probably known by other people, but these information was not on my table... it simply doesn't pay.  More costly than other method.

Logically, it doesn't make sense to me to keep having this many nuke plants.
Let's start working on new energy... It takes time, but we will need to shift... before another disaster hits us.

Good Thing that We are Seriously Thinking.....

It was certainly a tragedy.... I am talking about the quake, tsunami and nuke plant accident, the triple disaster.

In this situation, if I try to look at bright side, ( still sad that 88,000 people had to evacuate due to radioactive contamination ) that we finally face energy and environment issue.  Well, maybe it's just me.... I can see that some people around me are still paying less attention and there are people who had been aware of this issue... I am probably just one of the average people..... knew that there were issues, yet didn't know much about it.

This time, many people around me are concerned ... how we should move and what we should do.... trying to find information and study....  Still information is not fully disclosed and we are frustrated, yet good move is that some TV programs started carrying informative news and programs.

Hoping that this will change Japan in a good way.... It's not easy, but we are learning from this experience.   Those people's pain should not be forgotten.

Salmon , Rice and Miso Soup

Typical Japanese Breakfast
The other day, I wasn't hungry enough in the morning and after working for a while, I had this late breakfast or early lunch @ GUSTO, a family restaurant.

Grilled salmon with grated daikon radish and the shredded cabbage salad.
Pickled cucumber and radish, seaweed miso soup and rice.

My breakfast is usually simpler than this and less dishes since I don't want to take much time for cooking in the morning.

This is though a typical Japanese breakfast... well balanced, healthy set.

This was GUSTO in Shimokitazawa.

It was fatty tuna... melted in my mouth....

Tuna Dinner of Tonsui
Dinner set @ Tonsui.... hmmm.  I enjoyed it and at the same time, wondered if we can keep eating this.... fish.

Tipping point.... we do need to think what we can do and we should do now.

If we don't think enough now.... the earth could be terminated by our own hands.
