Zucchini & Herb Sausage for Breakfast

I love seasonal veggies and try to eat them in season.
Zucchini is Summer veggie ? I guess so. Correct me, please if I am wrong. Seasonal veggies are nutritious and reasonable.
So, in Summer, I enjoy tomatoes, egg plants ( Summer through Fall ) , cucumbers, melons....
As to zucchini, I often cook with tomato. Simply cook them in olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
This one is breakfast of one morning. Zucchini & herb sausage. The toast with marmalade.

Tonkatsu --- Takeshin @ Yoyogi Uehara

This lunch was about two weeks ago. On the way back home, I needed to get off at Yoyogi Uehara ( Odakyu line, Chiyoda line ) and had this. I love Tonkatsu, but I don't cook it at home.
I usually don't cook " Deep Fried " food at home because the whole room gets greasy.

I tried this place for the first time. It was great lunch. The shell was light and crispy.

Rice Bowl of Canned Sardines

The green drink is iced green tea. It is cooling in sticky day like today. ( It was so Summary today. )
This is Sardine Rice Bowl, which you can make from canned sardine ( the ones you can easily find at stores. )
Ingredients: Rice
Canned sardines , 2, 3 stalks of green onions, 1 clove of ginger,
1 table spoon of Ponzu ( my usual soy sauce. If you don't have one, you can mix lemon juice with soy sauce. )
1. Put the sardine with its can's oil into the pan.
2. Cook them till it starts boiling. ( This can only had two big pieces, so I crushed them. Otherwise, with usual 6 to 8 pieces small sardines, it is better to keep the shape. )
3. Chop the green onion. Grate the ginger.
4. Put steamed rice into the bowl. Put cooked sardines on the rice.
5. Put chopped green onion and grated ginger on 4.
6. Pour ponzu or mixed lemon & soy sauce over it. Done ! Enjoy fish bowl !


Lightly Cooked Chinese Leek with Bacon

Another easy, healthy recipe.
A bundle of Chinese leek
3, 4 slices of bacon
Boiled water
1 teaspoon of soy sauce, 1 table spoon of vinegar, 1 tea spoon of sesame oil
This recipe is from TBS's "Hanamaru Market"( A TV program for house wives , they have recipes on their website also ) .
1. Chop the root part of Chinese leek into small pieces.
2. Cut other part of Chinese leek into 3-4 cm.
3. Shred the bacon.
4. Put all the leek and bacon into a mesh bowl. Pour boiled water over it. ( 15 secs. )
5. In another bowl, mix soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil well.
6. Put the leek & bacon into the bowl. Stir well.
Ready to eat ! You can eat lots of leek with this recipe.

Thick Tomato Soup

I often eat tomato in Summer.
This is easy recipe when you want to enjoy tomato flavour.
2 tomatoes
3, 4 leaves of Shiso ( Japanese Basil )
1 table spoon of olive oil
1 tea spoon of Ponzu ( lemon, Yuzu or Lime juice and say sauce)
1. Pour olive oil in heated pan.
2. Add tomatoes ( cut into 4 pieces ) into the pan.
3. Cook till the tomatoes become thick soup.
4. Put the tomato soup into the bowl. Put chopped shiso on the top.
5. Pour ponzu over it.
